The China Studies Program is hosted by Xiamen University. This is one of the relatively few "key" universities in China, and the only one located in a Special Economic Zone. 

Located on the island of Xiamen in southeastern China, the Overseas Education College of Xiamen University is the primary host for the China Studies Program. Founded in 1921, Xiamen University is a comprehensive liberal arts university with a graduate school, 27 major departments and more than 30 research institutes. The campus is located on the southern edge of Xiamen Island in a beautiful seaside setting, with the campus running along the seashore at the base of the island's foothills.
